Tip leads to LSD arrest

Staff Report

CLARK COUNTY —

State troopers stopped a bus and made a drug arrest after receiving a tip.

The Springfield Ohio Highway Patrol post received an anonymous call. The tipster said that a male was trying to sell LSD to passengers at the Greyhound Bus Station in Columbus. The caller gave troopers the number of the bus the male boarded. That bus was scheduled to go westbound on I-70 to Iowa.

Around 12:30 a.m. Tuesday, troopers stopped the bus for speed and lane violations on I-70 just before State Route 235. They also called in a K-9 unit from Huber Heights.

Troopers boarded the bus to talk with the male passenger. They said when they did, the man moved toward the baggage compartment. Loudden M.Mathias was escorted off the bus.

Troopers said Mathias had a backpack, carry-on case, and a small red box which contained 145 doses of LSD. They placed the street value at $725.

Mathias was arrested and charged with possession and trafficking of LSD. He is held in the Clark County Jail.
