Tips Lead To Raid Of Suspected Chop Shop

DAYTON, Ohio —

Police in Dayton received a tip to search someone's garage, where they found what they believed to be stolen cars.

The garage, which is located on Deeds Avenue, is a suspected chop shop, where cars are dismantled and sold for parts, police said. There were two cars inside.

Now, officers are trying to figure out if other cars were torn apart in the garage.

According to reports, the dash was completely removed from one vehicle. It also had no wheels, no exhaust, no engine or windows and the interior was gutted, police said.

The other car's rear window was smashed and engine parts removed. Reports indicated that one suspect is already in jail on unrelated charges.

Officers are also looking for another possible person of interest, but at this point, police are not sure if any other cars were dismantled in the garage.
