Top Officials To Visit United Health Solutions

DAYTON, Ohio —

Community-based resources to educate and enroll seniors and disabled beneficiaries in the new Medicare prescription drug program will be highlighted at an event on Monday.

HHS Secretary Mike Leavitt and Sen. George Voinovich will appear at the Victor J. Cassano Health Center on Monday, April 3, 2006 amd 2:10 p.m.

In January, prescription drug coverage is available to all Americans with Medicare. Every person with Medicare -- no matter how they get their health care or whether they have existing drug coverage -- is eligible for drug coverage under a Medicare prescription drug plan.

The drug plans are available in all parts of the country, and cover brand names and generic drugs. Prescriptions can be obtained from neighborhood pharmacies and through mail order. More than 27 million Medicare beneficiaries are have signed up for the new benefit so far.
