Troopers: Speeding Driver Loses Control, Hits SUV

MEDWAY, Ohio —

Authorities said a speeding driver lost control on a Clark County road Friday morning and slammed head-on into another vehicle. The accident happened around 7 a.m. on Spangler Road just south of Lower Valley Pike.

According to the Ohio State Patrol, the driver of the a red car was heading north on Spangler Road at a high rate of speed when for some reason he drove across the center line, hitting an SUV head-on.

Authorities said the driver of the red car was trapped inside his vehicle for about 25 minutes. Firefighters said they had to cut off the roof and a door to get him out. He was taken by Careflight to Miami Valley Hospital with serious injuries.

Troopers said the driver of the SUV suffered minor injuries. The accident remains under investigation.

People who live along that stretch of road said the accident was one of the worst that they have seen.
