Three people were transported to the hospital for treatment after a truck smashed into the Courtyard Lounge on West National Road early Sunday morning, police said.

Officers responded to the bar, 320 W. National Rd., around 2:40 a.m., shortly after it was closed for the night, and found a Dodge Dakota wrecked through the front of the business.

The driver of the truck, identified as Marvin Schalk, 36, was taken into custody and police suspect alcohol may have played a role in the crash, Officer Richard Ring said. Schalk is being held on suspicion of felonious assault.

Witnesses said the Schalk may have been trying to get revenge for an earlier domestic dispute at the bar.

The conditions of the victims are not currently known.

The case remains under investigation.
