UPDATE: Seven Injured In Shelby Co. Traffic Crash

SHELBY COUNTY, Ohio —

A car pulled from a stop sign into the path of another car Saturday evening in Shelby County and sent seven people to three hospitals.

The crash happened on State Route 66 at Fessler-Buxton Road, about two miles south of the village of Houston.

Shelby County deputies said that Billie Skeens, 19, Houston, didn't see the oncoming northbound car. Skeens was taken to Wilson Memorial Hospital in Sidney along with her 7-week-old daughter, Ava. Also another passenger in her car, Dylan Starbuck, 21, Houston, was treated at the hospital in Sidney.

Occupants of the other car were identified as the driver Richard Reis, 62, and passengers Wanda Wierwille, 68, Sarah Farias, 24, and Shirley Yeattes, 73, all of the New Knoxville area.

Yeattes is in fair condition at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton. She was removed from the scene aboard CareFlight to Dayton. The other three were treated at Upper Valley Medical Center near Troy.

Skeens was cited by Shelby County deputies for failure to yield from a stop sign..
