Vandals Destroy Private, Public Property

HUBER HEIGHTS, Ohio —

Police said vandals are responsible for creating damage on two sites in Huber Heights.

Officers said the vandals damaged a grinder that shreds yard waste and trees by breaking the glass on the back of it. The grinder was located on a public city property.

However, police said the vandals created even more damage on private property next to the city site. They said a 20-by-40-foot metal shed-type garage was destroyed when the vandals took a front loader to it.

Sgt. Charles Taylor said, “These individuals were here. They had a mission to destroy and they were here for quite a while.”

Taylor said the vandals actually knocked the shed off of its foundation, pushing it some 20 feet into the woods.

Police said the shed was once full of expensive items that belonged to the city of Huber Heights and the property owner.

“There were numerous tools and equipment inside, including a spreader that belonged to the city. It is unknown the value of all of the property,” Taylor said.
