Victim, Passenger Identified In Crash Near Miami U.

OXFORD TOWNSHIP, Ohio —

Oxford Township police said one college student was killed and another was injured in a car crash near Miami University Friday night.

According to officers, two men were in a car on Shadowy Hills Road in Oxford Township when driver Stephen S. Fenstemaker of North Canton lost control and flipped the vehicle.

Fenstemaker, a Miami University freshman, was pronounced dead at the scene, Oxford Township police said.

The vehicle’s passenger Gregory Marchand of Massillon and a freshman at Wright State University was transported to McCullough Hyde Hospital with a concussion, Oxford Township police said.

The investigation is ongoing by the Oxford Township traffic crash unit, however preliminary investigation indicates speed was a factor. A blood test to check for possible impairment will not be complete for several days.
