SHELBY COUNTY, Ohio —

The owner of A.L Smith Trucking Co. in Darke County trails a late night metal "scrap'r"  into Shelby County where deputies made a traffic stop and an arrest.

Charged are also possible by Darke County deputies.

The suspect, from Sidney, was charged with a first degree misdemeanor charge of receiving stolen property.

The judge released him from the county jail on his own recognizance Monday morning.

Taken from the business were several old steel brake drums worth about $15 a piece.

Deputies say this was not considered a pursuit. Officers were just trying to catch-up with the vehicle as the victim followed the pick-up truck, giving  a 911 dispatcher their direction of travel so that deputies could make a traffic stop.
