Wayne Co. deputy involved in 2-vehicle crash

WAYNE COUNTY, Indiana —

The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office said a deputy was involved in a crash with another vehicle.

Officials said around 8:45 p.m. Tuesday, Sgt. Allen Campbell was traveling north on Mineral Springs Road in a 2011 Ford Crown Victoria.

A vehicle driven by Sarah Long, 30, of College Corner Road was driving east in a 1999 Plymouth mini-van when the vehicles crashed.

The Indiana State Police investigated the crash per the sheriff’s request.

Investigators said both drivers were treated at Reid Hospital and released with minor injuries.

A witness account stated that the Long failed to yield to Sgt. Campbell who had the right of way on Mineral Springs Road. Long was cited for failure to yield.
