PREBLE COUNTY —

A man who stole a vehicle and eluded police during a chase today has stolen a second vehicle.

Sheriff’s deputies said the suspect took the first vehicle on Black Road in Riverside early this morning. He was chased and drove off of Ohio 503 into a yard.

He then ran.

It is believed the man took another car about a quarter of a mile down the road and may still be in it.

That vehicle is a silver 2000 Grand Am with the license plate number FTN9563. The vehicle has black door handles and a black spoiler. It also has red windshield wipers and custom rims.

Items recovered from the first vehicle stolen include two shotguns, a purse, three or four cases of power tools and at least one guitar inside the vehicle, deputies said.

Deputies suspect the items may have been taken from a burglary near Black Road recently, according to officials. The owner said they were not items already in the car.

The Ohio Highway Patrol and West Alexandria Police Department assisted the Preble County Sheriff’s Office in the search for the suspect.
