Weather creates some interesting moments

Staff Report

MIAMI VALLEY —

Thunderstorm activity which moved through the Miami Valley overnight caused some interesting moments for people.

In Clayton, a lightning bolt knocked down a pole. That pole then hit a tree, which then fell on power lines. They all came crashing down on Phillipsburg-Union Road.

No one was hurt thanks to neighbors watching out for one another.

“There were some people standing there watching it in a garage off to the side, said Clayton Fire Capt. Michael Seagraves. “They came out and warned people before we got here.”

Power was later restored in the area, but there have been other scattered outages around the area. There are about 400 customers without power in the area as of 6:30 a.m. Saturday.
