Weekend Drug Investigation Nets Arrests

WAPAKONETA, Ohio —

Authorities said 15 people in Auglaize, Mercer and Allen counties were arrested on a total of 35 drug-related charges returned by a grand jury.

Officials said the defendants are men and women, ages, 18 to 48, most of whom are residents of St. Marys, Wapakoneta and Cridersville. The charges range from possession to trafficking in drugs.

The arrests were all part of a continuing undercover drug investigation by members of the Auglaize-Mercer County Grand Lake Drug Task Force.

Authorities said those who were arrested over the weekend made their first initial court appearance on Monday. After they were arraigned, the suspects were taken to the Auglaize County Jail where they spent the weekend.

The charges range from possession of cocaine, marijuana and heroin to trafficking in drugs.

Investigators said there were also additional drug arrests made during the sweep that involved the possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia.
