Woman accepts plea in fatal Springfield crash

Staff Report

CLARK COUNTY, Ohio —

Authorities said a 22-year-old Medway woman accused of causing a crash that resulted in the death of a 5-year-old has agreed to a plea deal today.

Hannah Gough agreed to plead guilty to vehicular manslaughter, and in exchange, charges of vehicular homicide and assured cleared distance were dropped. Gough is accused of running into the back of a minivan on West National Road last August. The crash killed 5-year-old Lauren Drummond.

Drummond died after suffering head injuries in the crash, according to court documents. Her father, mother and 3-year-old brother were also riding in the minivan and sustained injuries that were not life threatening.

Gough will be sentenced at a later date, and she could face up to 90 days in jail and her license will be suspended. Her attorney said he’ll be asking the court to consider probation.
