Woman Carjacked, Thrown To The Ground

DAYTON, Ohio —

A woman was carjacked by heavily armed men and thrown out of her car and onto a Dayton street.

Officers spotted the men five hours later and chased them and the car down.

The female victim called 911 and said, "Two black males walked up to my car. They went on both sides, they had a pistol, they both had pistols in their hand, and they stole my car."

Her call sent officers rushing up North Main Street Thursday night. Meanwhile, the dispatcher tried to get more information from the woman. She said, "Both of them had two pistols. They had four guns. I got out of the car and walked away because they had guns. I didn't see which way they went."

Shortly after midnight, a female police officer spotted the stolen Dodge Stratus. Sgt Richard Blommel said, "The vehicle pulled out of the side street right in front of her."

When the officer confirmed that it was stolen, the officer followed the car and the two men inside. Soon, other crews joined her. "We thought we had it boxed in at an alley, but the vehicle was able to get around the other officer," said Sgt. Blommel.

Moments later, the men turned into the Desoto Bass apartment complex off Germantown Street. Despite the size of the complex, police said there are not a lot of ways to get in and out. "At which point he was pretty much trapped. He tried to run through the fence, didn't make it through," Blommel said.

Officers arrested both men for aggravated robbery and they could face more charges in connection with the case.
