24-year-old Ciara Phillips was arrested early Friday morning after leading police on a brief chase in Kettering. She was booked on suspicion of OVI and resisting arrest.

KETTERING —

Police made a traffic stop early Friday morning and when officers attempted to approach the vehicle the woman driving took off from police, according to officers.

The woman, Ciara Phillips, 24, reportedly took off from the traffic stop, which occurred around 2:30 a.m. at the intersection of Bobbie Place and Dorothy Lane, and after leading police on a brief chase, she crashed into some bushes.

The chase only lasted for a few minutes and about a half-mile, according to reports. Phillips drove through a backyard before crashing. High-speed was not reported during the pursuit.

Phillips was arrested and booked into the Kettering Jail on suspicion of OVI and resisting arrest.

The case remains under investigation.
