SPRINGFIELD TWP. —
A woman in her 20s, identified as Allison Davis, was injured Wednesday night after the vehicle she was driving went off the road and into a ditch in the 100 block of South Bird Road.
Emergency crews responded to the crash scene at approximately 10:30 p.m.
Davis was reportedly in and out of consciousness from possibly hitting her head and CareFlight was initially put on standby, according to a Clark County dispatcher.
Davis told deputies she swerved to avoid a deer, running along the berm approximately 300 yards before hitting a mailbox and driving into a ditch.
CareFlight was canceled and Davis was taken by life squad to Springfield Regional Medical Center, according to the Clark County Sherriff’s Office. She was treated and released.
Davis will likely be cited forfailure to control a motor vehicle, according to the sheriff’s office.
