Northern Bureau Chief
PIQUA, Ohio —
"It's where I got my start in radio and TV" over 40 years ago, said Steve Baker, Northern Bureau Chief for NewsCenter 7 in Dayton.
Friday, December 7th, Pearl Harbor Day, WPTW AM Radio 1570 in Piqua celebrated its 65th anniversary of being on the air. The switch was turned on in 1947.
On-air, former employees remembered their experiences at WPTW, while city and village officials from Piqua, Sidney, Covington, West Milton and State Representative Richard Adams commerated the milestone with Proclamations of Appreciation.
The radio station is now owned by Muzzy Broadcasting. The president is Rick Muzzy, a former employee of WPTW back in the 1970's.
