BEREA, Ohio —

Browns General Manager Phil Savage isn't offering any excuses for the 1-3 Cleveland Browns, who have been ravaged by injuries since training camp.

The club finally got its first win last Sunday, 20-12 over the short-handed Cincinnati Bengals.

Even though coach Romeo Crennel has indicated that the club contemplated benching quarterback Derek Anderson for Brady Quinn, Savage says the team has confidence in Anderson.

Savage believes the Pro Bowler will work his way through an early season slump.

Guard Eric Steinbach says its great the Browns got their win, but he says the team still hasn't played its best football this season. He says the club is hoping it will come out of its upcoming week going on all cylinders.
