DAYTON, Ohio —
The University of Dayton Flyers wrap up a two-game road swing when they head to the Bronx to face the Fordham Rams on Saturday at 1 p.m. The game will be televised on the YES Network and broadcast locally on WHIO, carried by WHIO Radio and is available with live video, stats and audio at DaytonFlyers.com.
The Flyers have been in a rough patch of late, losing four in a row. UD is 14-9 overall and 4-5 in conference play. During their current four-game losing skid, the Flyers have allowed 76.0 points and opponents to shoot .498 from the field. Ironically, UD’s four conference wins are against four of the five teams currently within a half-game of first place in the A-10. Kevin Dillard continues his all-conference campaign, having scored in double figures in six straight games. Dillard also leads the Atlantic 10 in assists per game (6.0 apg). Chris Johnson has stepped up his level of play recently as well, averaging 15.0 points in his last four contests. Johnson has scored in double figures in three of his last four games. The Flyers are in the middle of a five-game stretch where four of those contests are away from UD Arena.

The Fordham Rams are on a two-game losing streak and enter Saturday’s game 9-13 overall and 2-7 in the Atlantic 10. Fordham has been successful at home with a 8-3 record. The Rams top-tier victories at Rose Hill gym include wins over Georgia Tech and nationally-ranked Harvard. Chris Gaston, an All-Atlantic 10 selection, leads the Ram attack, having scored in double figures in 18 of the 20 games he has appeared in. Gaston leads the team and the A-10 in rebounding (10.2), and leads the team and is fifth in scoring (16.1). He also has a double-double in 14 of the 21 games he has played in this year. Bryan Smith was chosen as the league’s Rookie of the Week after he averaged 18.5 points per game in two contests. Smith scored 23 points at Temple and 14 against Charlotte.

Dayton leads the all-time series 21-5. The Flyers won last season 91-57 behind a career-high 27 points from Josh Parker. The Flyers have won five straight meetings and 11 of the last 12.
