DAYTON, Ohio —

The University of Dayton men's basketball team beat Temple Saturday night 70-66 before a sell-out crowd of over 13,000.

The Flyers snapped a two-game losing streak.

Chris Wright had a season-high 20 points.

The Flyers knocked down nine of their first 15 shots and built a 16-point lead with seven minutes to go in the second half.

But star guard Dionte Christmas scored 14 of his 20 points in the final 5:31, helping the Owls stage a furious rally. He made his fourth 3-pointer in that span with 8.2 seconds to go to cut the deficit to 68-65, but Little connected on two free throws with 5.9 seconds left.

Marcus Johnson had 14 points and Mickey Perry 10 for the Flyers, now 24-5, their highest regular-season win total since 1953-54.

The Flyers are 10-4 in the Atlantic 10 and could tie for first by winning at Xavier on Thursday.

You can watch the game live on WHIO-TV, Channel 7 and Digital Channel 7.1.
