Tuesday, April 29, 2008 – updated: 12:29 pm EDT April 29, 2008

A former Clark County official finds himself at the center of a criminal investigation.

Former county Emergency Management Agency Director Bob Hupp has been indicted on eight criminal charges, including theft in office.

On Monday, a Clark County grand jury indicted Hupp on two counts of theft in office, two counts of receiving improper compensation, three counts of unlawful interest in a public contract and one count of improper use of county assets.

The state auditor’s office started the investigation last August. It centers around the printing of the Clark County Data Directory that Hupp was reportedly in charge of.

News Center 7’s Cathy Stelzer spoke with Hupp on the phone on Tuesday morning. At this time, he is directly all questions to his attorney.
