MASON, Ohio -- Authorities said a fire on Wednesday night killed an elderly woman in Warren County.

The fire happened around 9:30 p.m. on Castanea Driver in Mason. Fire officials said a woman and her children managed to escape the flames.

Firefighters said they had to evacuate the burning structure when the roof collapsed.

Once the fire was out, they found the woman’s body. She is believed to be in her 70’s.

At this time, there is no word on what started the fire.
