Asian Restaurants Tighten Security After Robberies

HUBER HEIGHTS, Ohio -- Asian restaurants in the Miami Valley are tightening security after a rash of recent robberies. Authorities said two restaurants were broken into early Thursday morning in Huber Heights.They said the Thai Smile on Chambersburg Road was hit around 1:30 a.m. Police said about an hour later, China One on Old Troy Pike was robbed.Investigators said the owner of Thai Smile opened his business five months ago after moving to Huber Heights from Los Angeles. The owner said he has been broken into twice and began using an alarm system after the first break-in.Authorities said on June 4, two Asian restaurants in Troy were broken into and said thieves made off with cash. Now, authorities in Troy and Huber Heights are working together to see if the robberies may be connected.
