(5) San Jose Sharks (2-1) At Edmonton Oilers (1-2). 8 P.m.

(Sports Network) - The Edmonton Oilers try to knot things at two games apiece tonight when they host the San Jose Sharks in Game 4 of their conference semifinal set at Rexall Place.

The Oilers sat in an 0-2 hole entering Game 3 on Wednesday, but came through with a 3-2 triple-overtime win. Shawn Horcoff's tally 2:24 into the third OT provided the difference, as Edmonton overcame a tremendous goaltending performance by the Sharks' Vesa Toskala.

Toskala faced 58 shots on the night, and made 30 saves in the first two overtimes combined. He was beaten on the first shot of the third extra session, as Horcoff tapped home Ryan Smyth's errant wrap-around attempt that turned into a perfect pass.

Raffi Torres had a goal and an assist for the Oilers, as he forced overtime by scoring with 6:47 left in regulation. Dwayne Roloson came up with 32 saves at the other end

Patrick Marleau and Patrick Rissmiller each had a goal for the Sharks, who had won their previous six games dating back to the first round. Marleau checks in with nine goals and three assists so far in the postseason and hasn't been held without a point since the playoff opener against Nashville.

In all, the Sharks were outshot by a 31-18 margin in the three overtime periods. San Jose played in its first OT game of this postseason, while Edmonton improved to 2-1 in extra time.

All three matches in this series have been decided by one goal, as the Sharks posted a pair of 2-1 victories in Games 1 and 2.

This series has taken a chippy turn, as some questionable hits have occurred. In the opener, Edmonton's Radek Dvorak suffered a knee injury from a hit by Rissmiller, while San Jose's Milan Michalek sustained an eye injury courtesy of Torres in Game 2. Then on Wednesday, Sharks star Jonathan Cheechoo was illegally slammed into the boards by Georges Laraque and needed nine stitches to close a cut above his eye.

The Oilers are trying to go against history in this series, as they are 0-7 all-time in sets where they have trailed two games to none.

Game 5 will be played Sunday back at HP Pavilion in San Jose.
