Oakwood Students Study Economic Crisis

Tuesday, October 14, 2008 – updated: 1:43 pm EDT October 15, 2008

Adults are not the only ones who are concerned about the future of the economy. Older kids also say that they are concerned about the troubled economy.

News Center 7 sat in on an economics class at Oakwood High School on Tuesday to hear what teens are saying about the turmoil on Wall Street.

Students in one economic class spent the morning talking and learning about supply and demand and how it is affecting the turmoil on Wall Street.

The students are talked about the economic struggles with General Motors leaving Moraine and the difficulties of getting a car loan, and the government’s bailout plan.

Junior Barak Austin, 17, said, “I think, right now, we are pretty stable."

However, Austin said he will be a senior next year and will be looking for college loans and he is concerned about how difficult it will be to get a loan.
