DAYTON, Ohio -- Dayton Police said they are investigating the attack on a student at Belmont High School.

The school building was locked down for part of the day, while officers were inside conducting the investigation.

School officials said a student was attacked Tuesday, by one or more students during the school day. They said the student was not seriously hurt.

School leaders also said they are working with the student who was assaulted to help police identify the attackers.
