UD Arena Preps For NCAA Tournament

Posted: 5:39 am EDT March 17, 2009Updated: 6:01 am EDT March 17, 2009

Workers at UD Arena have wasted no time preparing the arena for this week’s NCAA basketball tournament.

The “play-in” game is being played Tuesday night at the arena against Morehead State and Alabama State. Whoever wins that game will play Louisville on Friday at the arena.

On Monday, crews finished a year-long to-do list. Workers taped off spots for courtside photographers and unloaded thousands of cases of beverages.

UD Arena will receive a facility fee in return for hosting the games. The arena will also make a profit on concession sales.

The first round of the NCAA tournament begins on Thursday.
