Natasha Williams

BIO

Early risers have likely have seen Natasha Williams, a few times over the years. The veteran news anchor has spent the last 19 years as an anchor and investigative reporter at #1 CBS affiliate in the country, WHIO-TV. She is currently the morning co-anchor of the Daybreak edition at WHIO-TV.   Natasha received her undergraduate degree from Johnson C. Smith University in Charlotte, North Carolina and a Master's degree from The Ohio State University.


She began her broadcast career as Anchor/Reporter at WBBJ-TV in Jackson, Tennessee and also held the same position at WTVO-TV in Rockford, Illinois, and WKEF-TV, the ABC affiliate in Dayton.


Natasha has  won several awards.  She was named Journalist of the Year By Public Children Services Association of Ohio in 2009. She was also named best reporter and she was awarded for best broadcast writing by the Ohio Associated Press in 2008.  Natasha was also honored by the Associated Press for a homelessness investigation, which led to policy changes in the city of Dayton that same year.  She has also been honored by the Society of Professional Journalists  and won an an Emmy Award for coverage of the 2000 Xenia Tornado and was nominated again for an investigation about Dirty Swimsuits.


She is a life member Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, locally she has served as Health committee chairperson and is currently 5-K Run for Health Committee chairperson in the Beta Eta Omega chapter of AKA; She is an active member of  The National Association of Black Journalists; and The Greater Dayton Association of Black Journalists; and also an active member of Wayman African Methodist Episcopal Church.  She visits schools all over the Miami Valley to motivate students and encourage academic excellence.


Natasha received a honorary PhD. from Wilberforce University in May of 2008.


Natasha is an an avid runner and has completed 13 full marathons. Away from work, Natasha enjoys movies, the theater and reading. She is married to Joey D. Williams, President of J. P. Chase Western Ohio.  They have two boys, Joey Jr. and Jordan "Max" and enjoy living in the city of Dayton, where their boys participate in various sporting events that keep them extremely busy.
