When you think of 500, some things immediately come to mind: the Fortune 500 and the Indianapolis 500 to name two.

This Sunday, April 27th, the number makes headlines again, this time in Dayton on WHIO-TV, as “High Q,” Dayton’s only locally-produced game show, airs its 500th episode

“High Q,” WHIO-TV’s academic challenge program featuring local high schools, debuted in 1993 and has been on the air every year since. In 15 years since the program’s debut, WHIO-TV has awarded over $80,000 in college scholarships to players on the championship & runners-up teams. This Sunday, on the 500th episode, Bellefontaine High School, from Logan County, will battle Arcanum High School, from Darke County, for the right to advance to this year’s High Q Final 4; the winner will play Piqua High School on May 11th. Carroll High School will play the Miami Valley School in the other Final 4 match on May 4th, with the championship game airing on May 18th.

High Q airs every Sunday at 8:30am on WHIO-TV, Channel 7.

WHIO-TV Channel 7 is a Cox Television Station and CBS Affiliate. Cox Television includes 15 television stations, 3 national television sales representation firms, a television production company, and a Washington D.C. news bureau.
