Natasha Williams
News Center 7 Anchor
You have to get up pretty early to catch me. I hit the air at 5 a.m. as co-anchor of News Center 7 Daybreak. I joined WHIO-TV in September of 1993 as a reporter. Before coming to Dayton, I began my broadcast career as Anchor/Reporter at WBBJ-TV in Jackson, Tennessee. I also held the same position at WTVO-TV in Rockford, Illinois, and WKEF-TV, the ABC affiliate in Dayton.
A graduate of Johnson C. Smith University, I earned my Master of Arts degree from The Ohio State University. I've won several awards. I was named best reporter by the Ohio Associated Press for a medium market. I was also honored by the Associated Press for my homelessness investigation, which led to policy changes in the city of Dayton. I was awarded a 2nd place honor for my homelessness series by the Society of Professional Journalists and was nominated for an Emmy Awards for my swimsuit investigation.
In my spare time, I work for organizations like Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, where I serve as Health committee chairperson; The National Association of Black Journalists; and The Greater Dayton Association of Black Journalists; and I’m also an active member of Wayman African Methodist Episcopal Church. I tutor at local elementary schools and volunteer my services to motivate students at several local schools in the area. One of my favorite projects is a monthly visit to an area nursing home to visit and entertain the elderly.
I am an avid runner and have completed several half marathons and 12 full marathons. Away from work, I enjoy movies and reading. But my husband Joey and I spend most of our time chasing after our two little boys, Joey Jr. and Jordan "Max". We live in Dayton, where my husband is president of Chase Bank of Western Ohio.
