I joined WHIO-TV in August of 2005. I came to the Buckeye State from the Tar Heel State of North Carolina.

My first job in television news was at WNCN-TV in Raleigh, North Carolina. I then moved to WABG-TV in Greenville, Mississippi as morning anchor and reporter. While in Mississippi I was recognized by the Mississippi Associated Press. I then returned to my North Carolina roots and joined WCTI-TV in New Bern.

I was born and raised Scotland Neck, North Carolina. I earned a bachelor's degree from North Carolina Central University and a master's degree from Virginia State University. I'm a member of the National Association of Black Journalists.

The Miami Valley has been good to me and I have met some great people. Thanks for getting to know me. A piece you will be with me the rest of my life.

Never cared about what people thought of me

What do you like about your job?
The people I meet on stories everyday.

What do you not like about your job?
I feel for family members moments after a loved one has been killed in a violent crime

What might people be surprised to know about you?
What you see is what you get.

What is the hardest thing you ever did?
I’m one of those people who has a task to overcome every day. Life is good but not easy.

What would be a perfect day for you?
Waking up with the love of God, health, strength and some money in my pocket.

What advice would you have for someone wanting to go into the business?
Don’t let those naysayers stop you.

If you could only keep one 5-minute tape from your career what would be on it?
The last minutes of the last 10 o’clock news on MVC.
