Wayne Co. Historical Museum Offers Egyptian Exhibit

RICHMOND, Indiana -- The people of Richmond, Ind., are preparing for a big birthday bash this weekend as the city is marking its 200th birthday.There will be parades, tours and special art exhibits planned to celebrate the bicentennial celebration.One of the exhibits that is being put together is The Life and Death In Ancient Egypt which is being shown at the Wayne County Historical Museum.The founder of the museum made several trips to Egypt back in the 1900’s. She was able to purchase an authentic mummy. The mummy will be on display this Friday at the museum.Volunteers are working fervently to make sure the finishing touches are completed by Friday.Museum officials said the exhibit is a popular one and its perfect timing. Lots of people will be able to learn more about the Richmond woman who brought world history home.
