Officials with Dayton Power and Light said that power has been fully restored to their customers after two weeks of having no power.

Now, some residents are taking the time to say “thank you” to the local utility company. Signs are popping up in local neighborhoods thanking DP&L for their efforts to restore power as quickly as they could.

The last two weeks has been frustrating for residents all over the Miami Valley after a wind storm blew through the region on Sept. 14 and knocked out power to hundreds of thousands of people.

At Dots Market in Kettering power has been restored. Brad Medlin manages the store and he said he “never wants to be down that long again.”

Now that the shelves are full again, Medlin hung a thank you sign letting customers know that they can come back and restock their refrigerators and freezers.

Medlin said, “Certainly when it came back on, we were grateful.”

Richard Saben said that he is grateful to the line clearance men who worked 16 and 20 hour shifts and endured protests.

DP&L is also running a television commercial thanking their customers for their patience and for letting them do their jobs.
