Dayton Flyers Lose to Duquesne, 77-66

ATLANTIC CITY -- The University of Dayton Flyers just couldn't get it done Friday night against Duquesne.The Flyers lost to the Dukes 77-66, in the semi finals of the Atlantic 10 Tournament.Aaron Jackson and Melquan Bolding scored 24 points apiece and Duquesne moved within a victory of its first NCAA tournament berth in 32 years.Eric Evans added 12 points as the seventh-seeded Dukes (21-11) won their third straight tournament game and posted their second straight upset in knocking off the third-seeded Flyers (26-7). They beat second-seeded Rhode Island in the quarterfinals.Now, the Dukes will advance to the final round of the A-10 championship Saturday night against Temple.Mickey Perry had 15 points to lead Dayton, which beat Duquesne twice during the regular season.Charles Little added 13 points and Chris Wright had 12 for the Flyers, who will have to wait until Sunday to find out whether they will get their first NCAA tournament berth since 2004.After the game, Flyer Chris Wright talked with WHIO-TV sports director Mike Hartsock. Wright said, "This was a very tough loss. They controlled the tempo of the game." Wright said he believes the Flyers lost focus.But, all is not lost.
