DAYTON, Ohio -- The Miami Valley is getting ready for a summer blast of heat and humidty. Temperatures are expected to be in the 90's through Saturday. And as the mercury soars, a lot of people are turning to a community program from help. But this year, program cuts may mean that some may not get the help they need to beat the heat. The Summer Crisis Program from the Community Action Partnership normally provides utility payment assistance. Today, Officials said they have less funding so fewer people will be able to use the program.People in need can now only have up to $100 toward their summer utility bills. Also, the program has stopped giving out free air conditoners to people with medical needs. Last year, the partnership handed out nearly 1200 air conditioners. The Community Action Partnership covers residents in Montgomery, Green, Preble and Darke counties and will operate until August 31 or until funds run out.Beat The Summer Heat: Summer Survial Guide
