Jessica Simpson gave birth to a baby girl named Maxwell Drew Johnson on Tuesday morning.

"Eric and I are elated to announce the birth of our baby girl," Jessica posted on her official website. "We are so grateful for all of the love, support and prayers we have received. This has been the greatest experience of our lives!!" the message added. The singer's first child was due more than a week ago.

Simpson, 31, and Johnson, 32, got engaged in November 2010 and have not yet set a wedding date.
