Celebrate Veteran's Day by sending holiday cards

The American Red Cross is once again operating its Holiday Mail For Heroes program.

The agency has partnered with Pitney Bowes, which will screen all cards for hazardous materials. Red Cross volunteers will review the cards to make sure they are in the holiday spirit and not inappropriate.

Read about the program guidelines on the Red Cross website .

If you want to support active troops over the holidays, make sure to choose a program that has the thumbs up of military authorities. You can find information about programs here.
