No Matter the Numbers, Huckabee Soldiers On

By Jamie Dupree

The results tonight are not expected to change one thing in the GOP Presidential race - that being the resolve of former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee to stay in the race.

Mathematically, Huckabee has almost no chance to stop John McCain from getting the GOP nomination, especially after last week's endorsement of McCain by former candidate Mitt Romney.

It hasn't stopped Huckabee though, as his campaign put out a scheduled on Monday that included a series of events in Texas on Wednesday and Thursday.  Texas is one of four states that votes on March 4th.

Events include a rally in Plano on Wednesday night, another in Houston on Thursday morning and then the photo opportunity of the day, as Huckabee will go to the Alamo in San Antonio.

I don't suppose you campaign neophytes will have a hard time figuring out the line to use for that appearance, eh?

When you look at the delegate math, Huckabee can stay in the race after March 4th, unless he just gets blown out by McCain in all four states that vote that day.

The next week is Mississippi on March 11, so maybe Huckabee sticks around all the way through there.

The problem is, the questions won't stop from the media, questions like "Are you getting out of the race soon?"
