The Polls Stay On The Same Track

Previous Posts

With eight days to go until Election Day, not much has changed in the last week or so in the Presidential race - at least as we can see it - from the public polls being released.

For Team Obama, there are polls that show him with double digits leads and there are polls that have him up comfortably, in the seven to nine point range.

For John McCain, there are only a few polls that show a glimmer of hope nationally, with McCain down 3-5 points.

At the state level it doesn't look so good, with poll averages showing Obama leading big in Pennsylvania (double digits,) strongly in Ohio in the 6 point range and by a narrow margin in Florida.

A lot of people argue it's a little late to turn those polls around, and it may well be.

McCain begins his day in Pennsylvania and then goes to Ohio.  Sarah Palin is making a swing through Virginia, which could well go to the Dems for the first time since 1964.

Obama is in Canton, Ohio and then Pittsburgh today, as he hits areas where Hillary Clinton beat him fairly soundly back in the April primary.

McCain is in Dayton again today, which has gotten a lot of attention from the GOP during visits by McCain and Palin.

Dayton is part of Montgomery County, Ohio, one of the few counties that Obama won in the March primary in the Buckeye State.

Time is running out for John McCain, but time is also running out for those people who consider themselves "undecided."

Do they help keep it close for McCain?  Can they possibly swing the election his way?  Or do they jump on the Obama bandwagon and make this a boffo win at all levels for the Dems?

Stay tuned.
