Republicans have released some details of the budget cuts that they will pursue as part of a plan that will be up on the House floor for votes next week.
"Make no mistake, these cuts are not low hanging fruit," said the Chairman of the House Appropriations Committee, Rep. Hal Rogers (R-KY).
The cuts detailed by Rogers are listed below and contain cuts in everything from nuclear energy to NASA, National Park Service and much more.
But before you accept these numbers, Rogers is still using figures that are not compared to the current budget for the federal government in place right now - instead, the "cuts" are compared to the President's budget request from a year ago that was never enacted into law.
That allows Republicans to say that they are cutting $74 billion in this effort, when the real number for cutbacks is closer to $35 billion.
Here is the list of cuts - with the inflated GOP figures - that Republicans released today.
