DAYTON, Ohio -- Wright State held a three-point lead late in the first half, but an 18-1 Illinois State run proved to be the difference as the Redbirds ended the Raiders' 11-game winning streak with a 54-46 BracketBusters decision Sunday night at Redbird Arena. In a first half that saw neither team hold more than three-point lead, a Jordan Pleiman tip-in followed by a Vaughn Duggins layup allowed the Raiders to go up 20-17 with 4:37 remaining in the period.Emmanuel Holloway, however, gave Illinois State a 22-20 halftime advantage by scoring the final five points of the period and the Redbirds outscored WSU 13-1 over the opening 6:42 of the second half to take a 35-21 lead.A Duggins jumper in the lane with 52.8 seconds left capped off a 16-1 run and drew the Raiders to 49-46, but could get no closer as the Redbirds scored the final five points. The Raiders shot 40 percent from the field for the game, but were just five of 18 from three-point range and five of eight at the foul line. Illinois State, meanwhile, shot 44 percent overall, was six of 15 from behind the arc and hit 12 of 19 from the stripe.Wright State led in points in the paint 22-16, but the Redbirds held a 14-9 advantage in points off of turnovers despite committing 16 turnovers to WSU's 14.Scottie Wilson paced the Raiders with 13 points while Duggins added 10 and Troy Tabler seven off the bench.Holloway led Illinois State (20-8) with 16 points.
