Fairborn man, 2 passengers dead after crash in Guernsey County

GUERNSEY COUNTY — A Fairborn man and his two passengers are dead after a crash on Interstate 70 in Guernsey County Thursday morning.

Shortly before 6 a.m., troopers responded to a crash involving a semi on I-70 near mile marker 179 in Cambridge Township, according to a spokesperson for the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

Troopers found that Raymond Clifford of Orange City, Florida, was driving a 2018 Freightliner commercial vehicle west on I-70 when it went off the left side of the roadway, crossed the median and then struck a guardrail and a Nissan Versa headed east on I-70.

The driver of the Nissan, identified as Nathan Johnson, of Fairborn, was taken to Ohio Health Hospital of Cambridge where he was pronounced dead. His two occupants were pronounced dead at the scene.

Clifford was also taken to the hospital where he was treated and released.

The crash remains under investigation at this time.
