Executive Producer

WHIO-TV, America's highest-rated station among metered markets, is searching for a strong leader to join our news management team as Executive Producer.  At your disposal is the combined power of news from four daily newspapers, four radio stations, 13 websites and from WHIO-TV.  The ideal candidate is a hands-on news manager who executes the station's strategic plans on a daily basis. 

The Executive Producer must have the ability to write compelling, clear broadcast copy that is to-the-point and relevant to viewers, and must be able to teach others how to write outstanding copy. The Executive Producer recruits and coaches producers to help them reach their full potential.  The Executive Producer must know how to handle breaking news and how to lead others to creating the enterprise journalism our viewers deserve. The Executive Producer must know how to execute top-notch coverage in severe weather situations.

The Executive Producer must have strong organizational and communication skills, and the ability to motivate staff under deadline pressures. The Executive Producer ensures adherence to on-air standards in news content and in all graphical elements.  A thorough understanding of newsroom systems, including INews and non-linear editing, is a plus.

Producer (Full-Time)

WHIO-TV, America's #1 station among all metered markets, is searching for the right journalist to join our team as a newscast producer.  With the power and resources of four newspapers, four radio stations and 13 websites, producers at WHIO-TV have the tools they need to create great newscasts worthy of being the highest-rated newscasts in the nation.  The ideal producer candidate will work well under deadline pressure, with passion, creativity and a strong attention to detail. 

The producer must be a vocal newsroom leader who can raise the level of journalism for everyone who's part of creating our newscasts.  Producers must be able to execute tight, active writing and create teases that are worth our viewers' attention. At least one year of newscast producing and a Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, or a related field are preferred.  Knowledge of INews and non-linear editing a plus.

 Associate Producer (Part-Time)

TV: Chief Engineer
Cox Media Group Ohio (CMGO) seeks a Chief Engineer. This is a key leadership position for CMGO. Duties include managing the day-to-day repairs, planning and execution of capital projects, maintaining FCC records and compliance and transmitter(s) chief operator. This position will work collaboratively with all CMGO departments on broadcast related issues and has two direct-reports.


Responsibilities:
* Supervise the day-to-day maintenance and repairs
* Assist with capital budgets planning and project management Maintain
* FCC compliance for our stations
* Oversee the design, documentation and execution of television system projects across various technology disciplines
* Have the primary responsibility for maximizing uptime by managing repairs and preventive maintenance on digital and analog transmission facilities
* Perform periodic measurements and recordkeeping to maintain FCC compliance
*Manage all broadcast maintenance and Engineering IT


Minimum Qualifications:
* Extensive experience with all television studio and transmission systems.
* Effective sense of priority and time management
* Thoroughly familiar with relevant FCC regulations
* Minimum 2-year technical college degree
* Minimum of 10 years of broadcast television experience with at least five years in technical management.
* Must be a team player, an effective communicator, and able to work and manage a team under pressure
* SBE certification and newsroom operations experience are a plus
